Premium Motorboat Manufacturer Axopar Boats Reveal Axopar 37

With a Custom User Interface on the Simrad® Multi-Functional Information Display

Dusseldorf Boat Show, Germany – Following the announcement of a new strategic partnership between Simrad® and Axopar Boats, an award-winning premium motorboat manufacturer, at the Cannes Yacht Festival in September last year, the first model of cooperation between Simrad® and Axopar, the new Axopar 37 is being revealed at Dusseldorf Boat Show, taking place from 18th – 26th January. The new Axopar 37 provides a complete new driving experience by a bespoke graphic user interface on the Simrad® multi-functional information display that gives a real ‘glass bridge’ feel to the bridge. The system was developed exclusively for Axopar and something that is usually only found on superyachts.

Alexander Berg, Director OEM Integration, Navico EMEA commented: “We are very excited to see the public reveal of the Axopar 37, as this demonstrates our shared forward-thinking approach and vision for the future of boating. The first step of our cooperation was to design the coolest dashboard on the market for the Axopar 37 model. Instead of having a fragmented area with lots of differently designed instruments, displays and switches, the project team has created a solution which is truly an integral part of the whole boat’s design by using Simrad’s custom glass. The bespoke graphic user interface which was exclusively designed for Axopar finally sets a new benchmark in this market segment.”

The Simrad® IDS system (Dual 12”) with a custom glass shape delivers an ultra-cool clean dashboard and was an integral part of the overall boats design from the outset. This is the first launch with Axopar Boats of a fully customized, innovative, driver focused and OEM brand specific user interface with integrated vessel startup check, Eco / Sport driving modes with active driving assistant features, entertainment and media control, all controlled and monitored via the simple and intuitive single-touch glass display. The advanced system integration incorporates Mercury outboard engines as well as numerous technical appliances such as entertainment, lighting, fluid level sensors, power management and the multifunctional steering wheel into the Simrad ecosystem.

Jan-Erik Viitala, Co-Founding Partner of Axopar Boats: “We want to provide our customers with a new driving experience and that starts at the helm. New technology enables us to develop new functions and interactivity between the driver and the boat, making boating as intuitive and pleasurable as possible, for both the avid boater and anyone new to boating. Smart data combined with interactive driver guidance derived from on-board electronics helps to guide the driver in new ways not yet seen in the boating industry.”
