Philosophy - Our Impact
On the Oceans

97% of the earth’s water is in our oceans, and our oceans are in significant danger - seagrass is declining, coral is dying, and harmful algae is booming as a result of pollution and climate change. The World Wildlife Fund report a 50% decline in the number of fish since 1970 due to over-exploitation and habitat loss.

Protecting our future and the environment we all play and work in is a priority for us. We wish to help create clean, abundant and sustainable oceans so that future generations can experience the joy of fishing and boating.

More resourceful using fewer resources

A company-wide initiative is under way to deliver all our packaged products in a sustainable way. We are developing compact, safe packaging solutions using sustainable materials for all our products. All finished goods will be in 100% sustainable packaging by 2021, and our aim is to completely eliminate single use plastic.

A complete sustainable packaging solution

We choose materials and processes that are energy-efficient, environmentally friendly and sustainable where possible. Our Packaging designs not only protect products; but are also adapted for maximum storage, shipping and cost efficiencies.

Hydropol® Bag

The Hydropol® bag ensures our product reaches its final destination as pristine as when it leaves the factory. These bags are biodegradable, simply add boiling water and it will dissolve.

Cardboard and Paper

Our cardboard and paper are sourced from certified suppliers. This means that the forests used are responsibly managed, socially beneficial and environmentally conscious.

Eco-friendly

We have replaced single-use plastic bags with paper bags or biodegradable bags.

Kraft Paper and Tissue Interleaf

We have swapped bubble wrap with sustainable Kraft paper and tissue interleaf for the purpose of shipping our cartons around the world. In addition, our local warehouses are moving to recyclable tape to secure our packing boxes.

Molded Pulp

To protect our Marine Electronics we use molded pulp. Made from wood fibers or recycled waste paper, Molded Pulp is 100% recyclable and biodegradable.

Working with like-minded partners

Across the globe, we partner with a variety of organisations who share our desire to protect our future and help create clean, abundant and sustainable oceans for future generations. A few examples:

Plastic Odyssey
Plastic Odyssey is a 3-year project to help develop transitional solutions towards plastic-free oceans. At the heart of the project is a marine expedition across three continents to engage and empower local communities in areas most affected by plastic pollution.

Fish Tagging
An international and fully interactive fish tagging program to promote the sustainability of marine game fish and increase public resource awareness. Powered by the world's largest network of fishing professionals consisting of approximately 10,000 boat captains and mates.

Conservation International
Conservation International’s Center for Oceans aims to protect the ocean globally. Leveraging the latest technological and social innovations with partners worldwide, they help countries scale up ocean conservation by creating financial and policy incentives to protect coastal habitats, promote climate policies, and disrupt harmful practices in the seafood sector.
